MongoDB 9.0 is Now Available

What it is: MongoDB 9.0 is a major release that introduces expanded capabilities in performance, security, observability, and resilience. Key features include up to 35% faster baseline query performance, new prefix, suffix, and substring matching for Queryable Encryption, enhanced native OpenTelemetry integration, and Intelligent Workload Management (IWM) to automatically queue operations and protect Atlas clusters during unexpected traffic spikes.Who it's for: Development, DevOps, engineering and platform teams who need to ensure high availability, security, and predictable performance for high-throughput applications. Why it matters: MongoDB 9.0 helps organizations build and operate demanding enterprise and AI-powered applications with greater scale, visibility, security, and resilience. Teams can support more users and transactions with improved performance, maintain application responsiveness during unexpected demand, gain deeper insight into database behavior through native observability integrations, and perform richer searches on sensitive data while it remains encrypted. The result is a stronger foundation for modern applications without adding operational complexity. How to get started:You can learn more about MongoDB 9.0 in our release notes, press release or webpage.

Now in Public Preview: Atlas Infinite built for Extreme Elasticity and AI-scale

What it is: Atlas Infinite is the largest architectural innovation in MongoDB Atlas ever, purpose-built to handle today's speed and scale of development and demand, with independent scaling of compute and storage. It's a new deployment option of the Atlas you already know, not a new database to adopt, with no code changes required. Built on the document model, the language of AI, and informed by what we've learned from 70,600 customers worldwide. It's designed to give your agents the performance and retrieval accuracy they demand, and absorb unpredictable traffic. Available in public preview, on AWS today. Who it's for: Atlas Infinite is for development, engineering, and platform teams building large-scale or AI-driven applications that experience highly variable demand or require extreme elasticity to support thousands of concurrent transactions and agents without performance degradation. Why it matters: By allowing compute and storage to scale independently, Atlas Infinite provides tunable performance and elasticity to absorb sudden traffic spikes. Organizations can scale operational data from prototype to petabyte on a unified foundation without over-provisioning infrastructure or facing disruptive architectural rebuilds. Teams achieve lower latency, higher throughput, and operational resilience during sudden traffic spikes. How to get started: Atlas Infinite is available in Public Preview on AWS. As a Public Preview, capabilities may change before general availability; learn more in the documentation.

Now in Public Preview: MongoDB Atlas Agent Engine

What it is: Atlas Agent Engine is an enterprise-grade data, governance, and runtime engine for AI agents. It provides persistent memory, context, built-in guardrails, and state management so developers can move agents from prototype to production without getting bogged down in back-end data and infrastructure plumbing like custom state stores, guardrails, or data pipelines. Who it's for: Atlas Agent Engine is for developers who want to run enterprise-grade AI agents in production, and focus on building agent logic unique to their business instead of spending time on underlying infrastructure. Why it matters: Developers need total control to move agents seamlessly from prototype to production - with the flexibility to run anywhere, and the scalability that comes from a platform that already powers trillions of daily requests. And all without the hassle of stitching together custom state, memory stores, governance, or pipelines. How to get started: Atlas Agent Engine is available in Public Preview on AWS. As a Public Preview, capabilities may change before General Availability. Learn more in our Technical Documentation.
